Christopher Wes

I am a J.D. candidate at the S.J. Quinney College of Law with a background in mechanical engineering and business, and I plan to build my career in litigation with an emphasis on intellectual property and emerging technologies. I am drawn to IP law because it sits at the intersection of physical laws and the law of the land.

As an engineer, I led a five-person team that designed and built a hydraulic fluid-powered vehicle, earning second place nationally at the Fluid Power Vehicle Competition in Illinois. I have also worked with ventricular assist devices and other medical technologies, deepening my interest in patent litigation involving life-changing innovations.
My prior experience includes working as a paralegal and legal assistant, conducting legal research, drafting documents, and supporting case management across multiple practice areas. Outside of law and engineering, I am a figure skater, high school swim coach, scuba diver, and skier.
